Little Green Riding Hood Bruno Munari

Munari's reinterpretation of the Little Red Riding Hood story plays with the traditional fairy tale and widens it's horizons, creating new characters and stories. Colour becomes the main character and is the protagonist of drawings, texts and colours. First published by Einaudi in their famous "Tantibambini" series, the collection includes Little Green Riding Hood, Little Yellow Riding Hood and Little White Riding Hood.

Each colour serving as the starting point and giving us the feeling of being in a particular landscape: The bustling city (yellow), the dense forest (green) and a snow-covered world (white). In each book, Munari amusingly describes an adventure in which Riding Hood's friendship with animals helps to overcome the wolf's evil intentions. Munari's "Little Riding Hoods" come back now as singular books, according to the original project.

Bruno Munari (1907-1998) was an Italian artist, designer and inventor. "Since his very first experiences in the 30s among the artists of the Second Futurism, he always dedicated his creative activity to every form of “experimentation”, with particular attention to the world of children and their games and toys. Never separating content from form and materials, what he designed were at once books, book-objects and games that would make us think."
