Azmaya, Rice Bin, 5Kg
A 5kg rice bin made from Paulownia wood with a matching square rice scoop. Great for storing rice, grains, pasta, or bread. Paulownia wood, known in Japan as Kiri, is highly regarded among Japanese craftsmen for being lightweight while strong and easy to work with. Traditionally, Kiri boxes are constructed with wooden nails and true to form, this rice bin also does without such hardware as nails and screws. Containers made of Kiri are known for their ability to protect their contents from moisture and repel insects while also being very lightweight.
The lid has a sliding opener and the entire lid can be easily removed for cleaning. 5kg of rice can be stored in this storage box all year around if placed in a cool open place avoiding high humidity or direct sunlight. When the rice gets low do not add more to it, but completely empty the box once and place the new rice. Clean the inside with a firmly wrung wet cloth, dry the inside well and then put the rice inside.
